Tunicamycin is an antibiotic useful in glycoprotein research. Tunicamycin is an inhibitor of N-linked glycosylation and the formation of N-glycosidic protein-carbohydrate linkages. Tunicamycin arrests cell cycle in late G1. Tunicamycin is soluble in DMF, DMSO, Pyridine, hot methanol, alkaline water. Warning! Toxic. May be Carcinogenic. Wear gloves/mask when handling product. Avoid contact by all modes of exposure. Tunicamycin gives a clear solution at 50mg/mL of DMSO. Active concentration: 0.1 - 5µg/mL. |
