Recombinant Human IL-3 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 133 amino acids and a molecular mass of 15,000 Dalton. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of TF-1 cells is < 0.1ng/mL, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 1.57x10(7) IU/mg. IL3 is a potent growth promoting cytokine. This cytokine is capable of supporting the proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types. It is involved in a variety of cell activities such as cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. This cytokine has been shown to also possess neurotrophic activity, and it may be associated with neurologic disorders.
