Recombinant Human Acetyl-Coenzyme A acetyltransferase 2 | |
|
ACAT-2 enzyme participates in lipid metabolism. ACAT-2 takes part in lipoprotein assembly, catalyzing cholesterol esterification in mammalian cells. ACAT-2 is an integral membrane protein that localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum of human intestinal cells. ACAT-2 deficiency contributes to severe mental retardation and hypotonus. Rec. human ACAT-2 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain of 210 amino acids (1-190 a.a.) and a molecular mass of 23.3 kDa. ACAT-2 is fused to a 36 amino acid His-Tag at the N-terminus. Synonyms: Acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase cytosolic, Cytosolic acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase, ACAT2, Acetyl CoA transferase-like protein, ACAT-2. |
