Package Size: 1000 units The Genaxxon HotStart Taq Kit includes: 1000 units SuperHot Taq Polymerase, 100µL of each dNTP (100mM each), Buffer E with separate MgCl2 sufficient for up to 2000 x 25µL PCR reactions (0.5 units Taq per reaction). All items are in shipped in separate tubes. The Genaxxon HotStart Taq is a mixture of the normal Genaxxon Taq polymerase and a monoclonal antibody, which blocks polymerase activity prior to heating. The complex formed between the polymerase and the antibody prevents primer-dimer and other artifacts resulting from unspecific primer binding. The anitbody is inactivated while heating up above 75°C, requiring no prolonged first heating step prior to cycling.

Unit Definition: One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme which will convert 10 nmoles of dNTPs to an acid-insoluble form in 30 min at 72°C under the assay conditions (25 mM TAPS (tris-(hydroxymethyl)-methyl-amino-propanesulfonic acid, sodium salt) pH9.3 (25°C); 50 mM KCl; 2 mM MgCl2; 1 mM b-mercaptoethanol; and activated calf thymus DNA as substrate.
