Package Size: 1 x 50 µg Highly purified modified Glutamic with extremely low autolysis and therefore greater control of protein fragmentation. Consistent Enzyme activity over long digestion periods. Characteristics: Glutamic acid endopeptidase from S. aureus V8 is a serine protease highly specific for the cleavage of peptide bonds at the carboxy side of either Aspartic or Glutamic acid, depending on the buffer used. In ammonium bicarbonate buffer, the enzyme is specific for the Glutamyl site. For fragmentation of protein with Glutamic-C, a recommended buffers are either 50mM ammonium bicarbonate, pH 7.8 or ammonium acetate, pH 4. It is essential to avoid the presence of phosphate ions. Chemical Modification: Highly purified enzyme is modified chemically by a special process which results in higher resistantance to autolysis and improved stability. The modified enzyme retains at least 90% of its activity after 6 hours incubation at 30°C in reaction buffer and at least 75% of its activity after 24 hours incubation under the same conditions.
