HER2 is the abbreviation for "human epidermal growth factor receptor 2". It is often referred to as erbB2 or HER2 / neu. HER2 is a receptor on the surface of cells. Signals are transmitted from the cell surface to the cell nucleus via this receptor.
KIFGSLAFL is a linear peptidic epitope studied as part of Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2 from Rattus norvegicus (brown rat) and Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-2 from Homo sapiens (human).
This epitope has been studied for immune reactivity, tested in T cell assays and MHC ligand assays HER-2/neu 369-377 peptide KIFGSLAFL (HLA-A*02:01) for stimulation of T-cells.
The single peptide (KIFGSLAFL) is used for stimulation of human Her-2/neu-specific CD8+ T-cells.
