LAMP Isothermal DNA Polymerase

LAMP Isothermal Polymerase is a mesophilic thermostable polymerase, which synthesizes DNA from both DNA and RNA templates with a high strand displacement activity. Isotherm Polymerase from Genaxxon is a novel thermostable polymerase with improved reverse transcription activity and a strong strand displacement activity, which is suitable for both LAMP and PCR methods of DNA amplification.

The temperature optimum (between 55-70°C) renders LAMP Isothermal DNA polymerase the choice No. 1 for isothermal amplification reactions such as loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP*), strand displacement amplification (SDA), rolling circle amplification (RCA), ramification amplification (RAM), genome amplification and more. What does LAMP stand for? LAMP means "Loop-mediated isothermal amplification".

The LAMP technique uses four to six primers to amplify a specific DNA fragment at constant temperature. First, a DNA polymerase with strong strand displacement activity is required. Second, a forward and a reverse primer are provided with 5' overhangs that hybridize with the amplicon to form two single-stranded DNA loops. These then serve as starting points for accelerated amplification of the desired DNA region. The Genaxxon LAMP Isotherm Polymerase has 5’-3’ polymerase and 5’-3’ strand displacement activities. It does not have any exonuclease activity.
