Map the Epitopes like a boss!
With humankind facing a new virus outbreak every now and then, everyone is in the race to develop therapeutics. Out of all the available methods to do so involves knowing the interacting proteins of the pathogen and hosts. The method that uses this approach is known as Epitope Mapping and involves two general strategies:
The first is to create peptide pools that contain all epitopes of the target protein. All you need to know about a peptide can be found here >.The pools are then tested to evaluate if there is an immunogenic response. This allows discrimination of this specific protein involved in the immune reaction.
The second strategy is to arrange the synthesized peptides on a peptide array. A parallel assay is then performed to test the immunologic reaction for each individual peptide. This method allows a fast identification of the exact sequence of the immunogenic peptides.
Synthetic peptides are able to influence a wide variety of biochemical, immunological and cellular reactions. Genaxxon offers a number of different peptide library products - designed to suit our customers' requirements. PepCen - a range of products providing solutions for every demand. Peptide libraries are powerful tools for:

As proteins and peptides are complex molecules there are different needs for characterisation of proteins and peptides. There are different experimental such as detecting proteins, quantify proteins, for isolating and purifying proteins, and for characterizing the structure and function of proteins. However, some experimental methods (e.g., mass spectrometry) require computational analysis of the raw data. Here, we describe some of the approaches to analyse proteins or protein solutions.
