Diese Katalase stammt aus einem gentechnish veränderten Stamm von Aspergillus niger. Das Enzym ist im pH-Bereich von 4,0-8,0 aktiv und hat ihr Optimum bei pH 5,5. Catalase zeigt im Temperaturbereich von 30°C bis 65°C Aktivität, wobei das Optimum bei 40°C liegt. Das genaue Temperatur-/pH-Optimum hängt jedoch von den allgemeinen Versuchsbedingungen ab (Zeit, pH, Temperatur, Substrat, etc.). Die Aktivität der Katalase wird in Baker-Einheiten angegeben. 1 Unit ist definiert als die Aktivität, die 1µmol H2O2 in 1 Minute bei 25°C und pH 7,0 zersetzt.
