Isolated from Streptomyces testaceus. Potent inhibitor of acid proteases (aspartic proteases), including pepsin, renin and cathepsin D and many microbial aspartic proteases. Effective concentration 1 µM. Stable for about 1 day to 1 week at +4°C. Stock solutions (1 mM) are stable for several months at -20°C.
