Product information "X-glucuronide CHA salt / X-GlcA / X-Gluc"

5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl b-D-glucuronide cyclohexylammonium salt is a Glucuronidase substrate. X-Gluc is cleaved by Glucuronidase into two molecules, glucuronic acid and 5-bromo-4-chloro-indoxyle. 5-bromo-4-chloro-indoxyle is then being oxidized by oxigen to a deep-blue dye (Indigo) which is insoluble.

X-Gluc is used for the detection of E. coli bacteria in food, water and feed. In molecular biology, it is often used as a marker for analysing the expression of target genes.

Synonyms:
X-glucuronide CHA salt; X-GlcA; 5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indoxyl beta-D-glucuronide cyclohexylammonium salt; X-glucuronide CHA salt; 5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl β-D-glucuronide cyclohexylammonium salt.
